These are photos of salmon fishing on the Sandy River in 2004. All fish were caught fly fishing (casting).

Only hatchery raised salmon are kept. All wild (native) salmon are released unharmed.

Twenty pound Spring run Chinook Salmon (Springer) caught 29 April. This Salmon put up a fight like only a twenty pound Springer can, taking out backing three times from my fly reel, twice for almost 100 yards.
Twelve pound Coho (Silver) Salmon caught 21 September. This Salmon was one of four Coho caught on that date.
Eleven pound Coho (Silver) Salmon caught 23 September. Three Coho were caught on that date.
Approx. eight pound Native Coho (Silver) Salmon caught 7 October. This fish was released unharmed.
Eight pound Hatchery Coho (Silver) Salmon caught 7 Ocotber. This Salmon was one of three Coho caught on that date.
Approx. twelve pound Native Coho (Silver) Salmon caught 13 October. This fish was released unharmed.
Ten pound Hatchery Coho (Silver) Salmon caught 13 Ocotber. This Salmon was one of six Coho caught on that date. All fish were released unharmed.
Approximate ten pound Hatchery Coho (Silver) Salmon caught 15 Ocotber.
