Dubbing Yarn Egg Imitations

Materials for Dubbing Egg Imitations:

Thread: 6/0 tying thread; color should match dubbing color
Hook: Tiemco 105; TMC 2457, Daiichi X510, Owner SSW or Gamakatsu Octopus hooks can also be used
Body: Various colors of fluorescent egg yarn or fluorescent dubbing mix

Tying directions for tying a yarn egg imitations using egg yarn

Tie on the tying thread so it covers the shank of the hook

Make a dubbing loop

Cut 1/2 inch of egg yarn in desired color

Use only 1/3 to 1/2 of the cut yarn for dubbing fly

Dub a tight, round body with the dubbing

Tie off dubbing thread and finish fly

Tie on the tying thread so it covers the shank of the hook.

Make a dubbing loop and put dubbing in loop; I'm using STS Trilobal Fl. Cerise Steelhead dubbing in this example.

Dub a tight, round body with the dubbing

Tie off dubbing thread and finish fly
