High Cascade Deer Hunt, 2002

Andy packed into the Mount Jefferson Wilderness in Central Oregon with three horses on the Thursday before deer season. He set up camp west of Three Fingered at about 5400 feet above sea level.

The weather was cold and clear for the opening weekend. Devin shot a Mule Deer buck on Sunday morning.

The weather got warmer and hunting dropped off the rest of the week. Terrie packed into the wilderness on Wednesday. We enjoyed the warm weather by riding the horses in the wilderness.

While Andy didn't shoot a deer during the early season, his deer tag is good in Western Oregon through the first week of November.
